James has been growing by leaps and bounds these last few weeks in numerous ways and continues to have many firsts.
He has been talking up a storm and now has a growing vocabulary with some of his favorites being, "bus, choo-choo and moo." His love for his cows continues and he still carries them around the house. When reading books he can now point out a cow as well. Driving downtown he'll speak up when he sees a bus or the light rail train. Daddy is quite proud!
Daddy and James also took a nap together a few weeks ago and it was so precious to see them both snuggling in the bed. This is the first time we can recall in about six months that he's been willing to just sleep in the bed - and not attempt to just crawl out of it!
Another first - an ear infection! Thought we were just visiting the doc for another bout of pink eye but it appears that wasn't the case and we left with an ear infection diagnosis too. He's was a trooper taking his medicine for 10 days.
James had a playdate at our house a week or so ago with some of Mom's Moms group friends who we met when James was first born through a class at Fairview. Three toddlers running around the house for two hours - now that truly was chaos - but oh so fun to see them all interact and see how much they've grown since the summer of 2009 (http://jumpingbeansjourney.blogspot.com/2009/09/my-fridays-with-mom.html).
Lastly - first molars. Three are all now finally popping through the surface and hopefully they'll be useful chompers soon as he's had to work so hard for them to come in. Poor guy can't even eat his Cheerios some mornings due to the pain - and brushing his teeth lately hasn't exactly been enjoyable for him or us.
James also started up swim lessons again this past week. He loved being in the warm pool again and both floating on his back and kicking his legs. It's was fun to see him in the water again and nice to visit the humid pool on an ice cold winter morning. It's amazing how much more comfortable he is in the water now and he keeps mom or dad busy trying to hold on to him while he tries out his new tricks. Stay tuned for pics of James in the water again soon!
