Riding My Bike

James took his first independent ride on his tricycle just a few weeks ago - and as you can guess he was pretty excited about it (and so are Mom and Dad!)!

Surely this will lead to rides around the block now and somehow we have a feeling his little Cozy Coupe might be taking a back seat to his tricycle here soon!

Bye Bye Diapers!

This is an update long overdue ... but James joined in on the potty-training band wagon and is an avid fan.  It's like a switch went off in his little brain and of course the week he tells us he's not going to wear diapers anymore and only wants to wear underwear is the week we all happen to be traveling - Mom to Napa with her girlfriends and Dad with both boys to South Carolina.  Papa gets the credit though, traveling with both boys on an airplane and potty-training James in route.  Mini marshmallows were key I guess - as these were treats early on for successful potty trips!  You can see him holding onto one in the picture below - a successful potty right before the plane pushed away from the gate!  I think he was pretty excited to go potty on an airplane though too!

James has been doing awesome with it has only had a handul of accidents overnight in the past several months.  He tells us he needs to "keep his Elmos and Thomas' dry so no potty in my underwear," and so far he seems to be doing just that.  We are so proud of him and are excited about not having to haul a diaper bag around for him anymore ... it's the small things in life really. :)

Family Weekend Up North!

We all loaded into the van in early August to enjoy a long weekend up at the Kamrath cabin - and what fun we had!

James, having been up there more recently than Mom and Dad, told us all about how to ride on the boat.  He was excited to take a dip in the lake and even got to enjoy some s'mores around the campfire way past his bedtime!

Henry enjoyed the weekend too. He slept on the boat and enjoyed watching James and all of his antics.
 
Mom and Dad got to rest and relax (minus a training run tossed into the weekend adventures - its that time of year!) and just enjoy the outdoors with the boys and Grandma and Grandpa got to give lots of hugs and kisses to both the boys!

We look forward to another cabin adventure soon - it's so much fun to see James enjoy this time at the cabin and reminds us how much fun it is to be a kid again!
