The Next Joe Mauer? :)

James just finished up his first season of t-ball - or what Mom and Papa like to call "organized chaos."  It was pretty cute to see all the kids in their over sized t-shirts and ball caps take to the field and give their all hitting the ball and running the bases each week.  In this rec program they are just working on the skills of throwing the ball, hitting off a tee and running the bases.  We as parents participate with them and try to keep the kids from fighting over fielding the ball :)

James enjoyed it and we've definitely determined through his playing this season that he's a lefty when it comes to baseball - particularly when throwing.  For hitting it seems he can switch it up (as seen below), but he seems to do better from the lefty side of the plate.

James lucked out with weather and his game nights as we had great weather all summer - can't complain about that, but perhaps the mosquitoes made up for it!  Henry got a kick out of seeing big brother play and wanted to always be in on the action.  Although he didn't get a chance to play, he did throw a ball around a lot during James' game time and got to partake in the fun treat night that we participated in twice over the course of the season.  The boys love ice cream and making messes might come in as the the second thing they love most! :)

Cabin Weekend w/ The Gang - 2013!

In late June we once again packed up the van and headed north to Park Rapids, MN to enjoy an extra long weekend cabin trip with our college friends and all of their kiddos.

With 11 adults and 10 kids all under the age of 6 it was a little crazy - but we've come to expect that, we make the best of it, and we all have a blast!

Luck had it we had great weather most of the time we were up there - and even with the cooler start to summer the kids weren't shy about getting into the water.  We could have done without the horrible mosquitoes but can't complain.

James the the kids always seem to keep themselves busy outside at the playground, on the beach and in the cabins eating non-stop - and this cabin trip was no exception.  They also enjoyed fishing and riding in the paddle boats.  The adults enjoyed putting our feet up a bit (in view of the children!) and watching them all play together.  Some of them are a little young to venture down to play by themselves, but they all found plenty to keep busy with too!

A few pics of the weekend shenanigans:
