Mom and Dad took to running together a few years ago and have continued to train for various races as a way to enjoy the outdoors and get some good exercise! The first weekend in October Mom and Dad ran in the Twin Cities Marathon weekend 10-mile race - otherwise known as the shortcut to the capitol!
It was a gorgeous day for running and James enjoyed spending the morning with Uncle Dan as Mom and Dad started their race in Minneapolis. Auntie Aimee ran the marathon too so Uncle Dan and James flew solo for the morning and from the looks of it, had a great time!
Uncle Dan and James met us at the finish line and we of couse needed a post-race photo!
Mom and Dad beat their previous 10-mile run time by almost 12 minutes so they were pretty excited about their performance.
Auntie Aimee finished her marathon run in true form too! Mom and Dad say she's a little crazy for wanting to run that far, but that's why I like her!

Homecoming - My first Gopher Football and Hockey Game!
Although James had been at the stadium once before for an exhibition game, he was only a few weeks old then, this was his first game and he seemed to love it! He surprisingly was content for most of the game and even made a debut on the big screen jumbotron during halftime as Dad carried him on his back in a carrier. Luck have it, this was the only time he slept at the game. Go figure, with 300 instruments blaring, he falls asleep. Perhaps the ear plugs had something to do with it?
We all ventured out onto the field following the game and got some great pics of the little guy on the turf!
The weekend fun continued on Sunday when we attended the Gopher Men's Hockey Team's first game of the season with Anna, Jon & Greta. Given it was a late start for James we only stayed for half the game, but he seemed to enjoy all the activity of the ice arena and cheering on his team to victory!
Go Gophers!!
