With "Baby Rhubarb" along for the ride, Mom felt she did okay at her late September 5K. A lot slower than usual, but guess that's to be expected at 20 weeks, right? James enjoyed the medal just as much as Mom did. Fun part of the event was that it was an all women's event (5K and 10-mile) and after the race we were just hanging out and enjoying the great weather when Mom was approached by one of the race directors. Obviously, with baby on board, and James doing laps she could tell she was a 'Mom' and asked if we would stick around for the awards ceremony to be gifted a copy of the book, "Hot, Sweaty, Mamas." We agreed and it was fun to be recognized for setting a good example for our kid(s) and receive a copy of the book signed by the author. Mom has been reading it and it's a great way to continue to stay motivated to exercise, no matter how much effort it take some days to make the time to do so. Taking care of yourself is just as important as everything else in your life as parents!
After five or so months of training it all paid off. Papa should be very proud of his accomplishment and Mom and James are so proud of him too!!
